Summer Camps, Classes and Events at the Archery Center

We've got a summer filled with fun at the Archery Center! From archery, shooting sports, art and explore sports we've got an activity for you! Check out all we have to offer this summer!

Intermediate Archery Camp- This camp is for archers with a fundamental knowledge of archery such as range rules, how to safely shoot a bow and retrieve arrows and some basics of shooting form. Archery activities and games are used to help reinforce the shooting process along with body control and awareness in a fun and safe atmosphere. Archers will also explore more of the Archery Center’s outdoor ranges to learn all the great activities archery offers. This is a great camp for archers that have completed the Beginner’s Explore Archery Camp, After School Archery Class, and Intermediate Archery Classes held during the school year. All equipment is provided, archers that have their own equipment are encouraged to use their own as well. The cost of the camp is $55 for three days, will run Tuesday to Thursday from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Advanced Archery Camp- This camp is for archers who have an intermediate to high knowledge of archery already. Archers will spend time learning more advanced archery formats; develop more body awareness, learning drills and competitive games to test their abilities. Archers will also explore more of the outdoor ranges the Easton Archery Center has to offer. This camp is a link from being a novice shooter to a recreational and competitive archer. This is a great camp for archers that have completed the Intermediate Archery Camp earlier in the month or have attended our Intermediate Archery Classes during the school year. Archers are encouraged to have their own equipment but Center equipment is available. The cost of the camp is $55 for three days, will run Tuesday to Thursday from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Youth Bowhunter Camp- This camp is designed to teach students how to feel comfortable in the outdoors, whether the goal is to bowhunt, identify wildlife or interact with nature for any purpose. Open to boys and girls ages 12-17 interested in exploring timeless nature skills with a focus on archery as a means to get kids out and explore. All equipment is provided. The cost of the camp is $55 for three days, will run Tuesday to Thursday from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Space is limited so register now!

Youth Hunter Education Challenge- The Youth Hunter Education Challenge, YHEC, provides a fun environment for kids 18 and younger to improve their hunting, marksmanship and safety skills. Through its simulated hunting situations, live fire exercises and educational and responsibility events, YHEC helps build upon skills learned in basic hunter education courses and encourages safer, lifelong hunting habits. YHEC participants will learn skills such as hunter safety trail, wildlife identification, archery and other shooting sports. All equipment and supplies are provided, participants are welcome to bring their own.

Time: 9-3pm.

Fee $25 and includes lunch for participant and guardian

Explore Compound Archery- Learn the fundamentals of shooting a compound bow, play fun archery games including opportunities to shoot at 3D foam animals and explore our outdoor field courses for the youth bow hunter. Classes teach safety, equipment, steps to shooting, and fun activities. This program is perfect for kids that love the outdoors, enjoy shooting sports and have an interest in bow hunting. Get the most out of your archery experience! All equipment is provided. This is an outdoor activity; please dress appropriately. Class size: minimum 4 and maximum 20.

Compound Archery Adventure Day Camp- Archers will have the opportunity to try a variety of archery games at the largest archery center in the world. Activities include target, 3D and field archery as well as crafts and bow birds archery (think trap shooting with bows). All equipment is provided, archers are welcome to bring their own equipment as well. Students must have completed the Explore Compound Archery class or equivalent safety class offered at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center (TRY Archery or After School Archery classes for example). This is an outdoor activity, please dress appropriately. Class size: minimum 4 and maximum 20.

Supergirl Archery and Air Rifle Class- Explore the supergirl in you! This weekly camp will teach you to shoot archery, learn to shoot air rifle like a hero and explore the outdoors of the beautiful Easton Yankton Archery Center. All equipment provided, all skill levels welcome. Have fun with other girls who want to be super, just like you! This is an outdoor activity, please dress appropriately; bringing water is recommended. Class size: minimum 4 maximum 20.

Supergirl Day Camp- Girls archery, air rifle and crafts. Be a super girl all day long! Practice archery like a champ, shoot air rifle like a superhero, craft yourself a super girl accessory and explore the outdoors in this fun-filled girls adventure camp. This is an outdoor activity, please dress appropriately; bringing water and sack lunch is recommended. Class size: minimum 4 and maximum 20.

Field Archery Buddy Class- Bring a friend along and learn to shoot field archery. Shoot at targets spread throughout the wooded terrain of the NFAA Archery Center. Think Frisbee golf, but with bows and arrows. This is a great class for intermediate level archers to learn a new archery game with a friend. This is a great parent-child activity. Bringing your own equipment is recommended. Archery Center can provide bows; archer must provide their own arrows (available for purchase at the Archery Center). This is an outdoor activity, bring your bug spray! Class size: Minimum 4 and maximum 20.

Outdoors Adventures Day Camp- Unplug and recharge by enjoying all that nature has to offer. Sitting on 100 acres of land, the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center is the perfect location for an outdoor adventure. This comprehensive class will include geocaching, compass and navigation skills, wilderness survival, archery, and hiking. The class focuses on inviting campers to explore the world around them through hands on, outdoor, experiential learning. This is an outdoor activity, please dress appropriately; bringing water and sack lunch is recommended. Class size: minimum 4 and maximum 20.

NFAA Air Rifle- NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center Air Rifle program is open to 10-18 year olds. Participants will learn proper technique for shooting air rifles with emphasis on safety. All equipment is supplied. This is an outdoor activity; please dress appropriately. Class size: 10

NFAA Trap Shooting- The NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center Trap Shooting Program is open to 11-18 year olds who have completed a state approved Hunter Safety Program. This is a comprehensive class teaching safety, forms, and fundamentals of trapshooting. Price includes use of firearms, all ammunition and related materials. Must provide proof of Hunter Safety Course Completion. This is an outdoor activity; please dress appropriately. Class size 10

Summer Art With Sue Hill

Sue Hill is excited to announce a wide variety of classes for this summer. With over 40 years of art experience, Sue offers in-depth classes that allow artists of all ages to focus on and improve their skills. With class size being limited, each student receives maximum attention and help with anything they might need.

 

Patty Cakes- Both parents and children can participate in this class, making it an interactive and engaging time for all involved. Class will include a wide variety of topics, such as exploring color, drawing, collage, patterns and textures, all with a lot of laughter thrown in. Aprons are available, but well worn clothes are suggested. Class is limited to 4 pairs.

Beginners Art Class- Young artists will learn a variety of topics in this exciting and interactive class. Skills and tools in making art will be introduced. This class includes everything from drawing, collage and patterns to textures and mixing colors. Watercolor paper and acrylic paints will be used. Aprons are available but well worn clothes are suggested. Class is limited to 5 students.

Intermediate Art Class- This exciting and interactive class features drawing and abstract four color painting. By using different mediums such as metallic paints and found objects, students are consistently engaged and learning new skill sets very week. Aprons are available but well worn clothes are suggested. Class is limited to 5 students.

Advanced Art Class- In this enjoyable and in-depth class, students can learn advanced skills in drawing and painting. A wide array of techniques will be covered, such as collage, pattern, textures and mixing colors, allowing the students to grow as individual artists.  Class is limited to 5 students.
