Summer Camps, Classes and Events at the Archery Center

We've got a summer filled with fun at the Archery Center! From archery, shooting sports, art and explore sports we've got an activity for you! Check out all we have to offer this summer!

CLASSES

Intermediate Youth Archery Camp Ages 8+

Interested in taking your archery skills to the next level? Kids involved in sports such as archery benefit from skills such as focus, discipline, self-reliance and confidence, among others. This is a great camp for archers ages 9 and older that have completed an introductory class and are looking to develop their skills beyond recreational archery. Learn essential tools to become a skilled archer in 3D archery, field archery or target archery such as form, body awareness, body control and learning to work with archery equipment and accessories. This is an outdoor activity; please dress appropriately. A water bottle and a snack is required. Archers can have their own equipment or use the Archery Center’s.

Advanced Youth Archery Camp Ages 10+

This class is a link from being a recreational shooter to those interested in becoming a competitive athlete. Archers in this camp develop a greater understanding of their shot process to improve performance at archery events. Archers will participate in discussions and exercises that help them improve their archery skills including competitive individual and team activities. Archers must complete an intermediate-level archery class and have their own equipment to participate. This is an outdoor activity; please dress appropriately. A water bottle and a snack is required.

Explore Archery Intro Class- Ages 7+

This interactive class is open to anyone wanting to learn the basics of archery. Topics covered include fundamentals of shooting, safety and equipment. We’ll play fun games and shoot at 3D targets. This class is perfect for those who enjoy shooting sports and have an interest in bow hunting.  This class is available for classes and camps that require prior archery safety classes such as Explore Bowhunting, Explore Bowfishing.

Explore Compound Archery Ages 7+

Learn the fundamentals of shooting a compound bow, play fun archery games, shoot at 3D foam animals and explore our outdoor field courses. Classes teach safety, equipment, steps to shooting and fun activities. This program is perfect for kids who love the outdoors, enjoy shooting sports and have an interest in bow hunting. All equipment if provided. This is an outdoor activity; please dress appropriately. Class size 4-20.

NFAA Supergirl Archery and Air Rifle Class- Ages 10+

Explore the supergirl in you! This weekly camp will teach archery, air rifle and exploring the outdoors around the beautiful Easton Yankton Archery Center. All equipment provided, all skill levels welcome. Have fun with other girls who want to be super, just like you! This is an outdoor activity, so please dress appropriately. Brining water is recommended. Class size 4-20

Fantastic Fridays at the Archery Center ages 7+

Spend your Fridays at the Easton Yankton Archery Center. This monthly class is all about having fun and getting outside. Participants can try bow birds (thing flying Frisbess) and 3D archery. Each class will include fun games, interactive activities and will focus on the lighter side of archery. This class is open to all ages, from youth to adult. This is an outdoor activity; please bring water and dress appropriately. This class is available for classes that require archery safety class such as Explore Bowhunting and Explore Bowfishing.

Youth Explore Bowhunting Class ages 9+

Interested in learning essential bowhunting skills for life? The Explore Bowhunting teaches archers how to interact with their natural world by developing basic skills used to bowhunt, which focus on getting close to animal. In partnership with the South Dakota Department of Game Fish and Parks, the Explore Bowhunting class is designed to engage kids in the outdoors and to specifically help kids relate to the age-old customs and skills involved in bowhunting, appreciate what is around them and enhances their enjoyment with the outdoors. This is an outdoor activity; appropriate attire is required along with a water bottle and a snack. Students are required to complete an introductory archery class at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center prior to this course such as Explore Archery, Explore Compound Archery, Super Girl Archery & Air Rifle or similar fundamentals of archery class.

Ladies’ Explore Bowhunting Class Ages 16+

Do you have an interest in interacting with the outdoors and developing the skills essential to bowhunting? Then this class is for you! This class is designed to engage students in the outdoors and learn age-old customs and skills involved in harvesting large game with a bow. In partnership with South Dakota’s Game Fish and Parks this class will focus on deer and turkey seasons, identifying accessible hunting land, getting close to an animal, harvesting techniques and much more. This is an outdoor activity; appropriate attire is required along with a water bottle and a snack. Students are required to complete an introductory archery class at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center prior to this course such as Explore Archery, TRY Archery or similar fundamentals of archery class.

Learn one of the fastest growing summer activities in South Dakota! In partnership with the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks this Explore Bowfishing class in an interactive shooting program that introduces kids to a fast-paced, archery-based form of fishing. This class teaches bowfishing basics to anyone interested in learning how to bowfish, whether they are new to fishing and archery or well-seasoned anglers and archers. This class also provides a gateway to further engage people in hunting, shooting sports and the outdoors. Learn fundamental bowfishing skills on day one at the Archery Center and put them to the test on day two on public fishing areas in the community. There’s no better way to get started! This is an outdoor activity; appropriate attire is required along with a water bottle and a snack. Students are required to complete an introductory archery class at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center prior to this course such as Explore Archery, TRY Archery or similar fundamentals of archery class.

DAY CAMPS

NFAA Supergirl Day Camp Ages 7+

Be a supergirl all day long! Practice archery like a champ, shoot air rifle like a superhero, craft yourself a supergirl accessory and explore the outdoors in this fun-filled girls’ adventure camp. This is an outdoor activity, so please dress appropriately. Please bring water, a sack lunch and a snack. Class size 4-20

NFAA Outdoor Adventure Day Camp ages 7+

Unplug and recharge by enjoying all that nature has to offer. Sitting on 100 acres of land, the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center is the perfect location for an outdoor adventure. This comprehensive class will include geocaching, compass and navigation skills, wilderness survival, archery and hiking. The class focuses on inviting camper to explore the world around them through hands on, outdoor experimental learning. Please bring water, sack lunch and a snack. Class size 4-20

NFAA Compound Archery Adventure Day Camp ages 7+

Archers will try a variety of games at the largest archery center in the world. Activities include target, 3D and field archery as well as crafts and bow birds (think trap shooting with bows). All equipment is provided, though archers are welcome to bring their own. Students must have completed the Explore Compound Archery class or equivalent safety class offered at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center (TRY Archery or After School Archery Classes for example) This is an outdoor activity, so dress appropriately. Please bring water, sack lunch and a snack. Class size 4-20

NFAA Family Fun Day at the Archery Center ages 7+

Bring the whole crew for a day of fun! Activities include 3D archery, bow birds and exciting games. This class is great for the beginner to advanced archery. This is an outdoor activity, so please dress appropriately. Please register each person in the family.

NFAA Air Rifle ages 11-17

NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center Air Rifle program is open to children ages 11-17. Participants lean proper shooting technique with an emphasis on safety. All equipment is supplied. This is an outdoor activity; please dress appropriately Class size 10.

NFAA Trap Shooting ages 11-18

This is a comprehensive class teaching safety, form and fundamentals of trap shooting. Price includes use of firearms, all ammunition and related materials. Participants must have completed a state-approved Hunter Safety Course and must provide proof. This is an outdoor activity; please dress appropriately. Class size 10

Summer Art With Sue Hill

Sue Hill is excited to announce art classes this summer. With more than 40 years of art experience, Sue offers in-depth classes that allow artists for al ages to focus on and improve their skills. With limited class sizes, each student receives maximum attention and help with anything they might need. All courses take place at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center Art Studio, 80 Archery Lane.

 

Beginner’s Art Class ages 5-6

Young artists will learn a veriety of topics in this exciting and interactive class. Skills and tools in making art will be introduced. This class includes everything from drawing, collage and patterns to textures and mixing colors. Watercolor paper and actylic paints will be used. Aprons are available but well-worn clothes are suggested. Class size 4.

Intermediate Art Class ages 7-11

This exciting and interactive class features drawing and abstracts for color paining. By using different mediums such as metallic paints and found objects students are consistently engaged and learning new skill sets every week. Aprons are available but well-worn clothes are suggested. Class size 4
