Programs

Belly Dancing

Join Christie Giles as she teaches the beautiful ancient art of belly dance. Improve flexibility, strengthen, tone, and firm in a fun unique way while burning approximately 340 calories per hour. Introductory and advanced classes are available. Giles has 14 years of performance and teaching experience and formally traveled with A Mirage Dance Company of Oklahoma.

Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art and the national sport of South Korea. It combines techniques of self-defense, sport, exercise, and philosophy. Classes are taught by instructor Mr. Michael Peck, who has over 35 years of experience in the sport. Peck’s Tae Kwon Do is an affiliate of USA Tae Kwon Do (USAT), which is known for its relationship with the US Olympic committee. Students joining USAT ($35 annually) are eligible for Olympic tryouts and a free first month of lessons at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex.

Zumba

Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Licensed teachers available in Zumba Fitness, Zumba Gold, Zumba Toning, and Zumbatomics. Classes take place in a private, climate-controlled studio featuring an impact resistant maple dance floor. It’s a dance-fitness class that feels friendly, and most of all, fun. Zumba Fitness - It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students.

Zumba Gold - It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Zumba Toning - It combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio to tone all the target zones. Zumba Toning is the perfect way for enthusiasts to sculpt their bodies naturally while having a total blast.

Zumbatomic - Designed exclusively for kids (ages 4-12), Zumbatomic classes are rockin’, high-energy fitness-parties packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines and all the music kids love. Parents love Zumbatomic because of the effects it has on kids, increasing their focus and self-confidence, boosting metabolism and enhancing coordination.

T'ai Chi Chih!

Experience joy through movement and learn more about the simple, fluid movements in the non-martial art of T'ai Chi Chih, a moving meditation. These movements can be performed by anyone, no special ability or fitness level is required. Benefits can be physical, emotional, and spiritual. Classes are instructed by Accredited instructor Carol A. Houtkooper.

Raku Pottery Classes

American Style Raku is a fun, fast an exciting process to experience. Learn hand building techniques and experience using the pottery wheels under the guidance of master potter Dan Bartos. The Raku glaze and firing is full of surprising results in glowing metallic colors. Class sizes are limited to 6.

Art classes

Class participants will produce their own custom woodblock prints and learn basic drawing, watercolor painting and oil pastels techniques. All ages and ability levels are welcome to participate.
